# Introduction

> Lupin gives every AI agent its own inbox — and soon, its own phone, cards, containers and browsers.

# Lupin

Lupin is identity infrastructure for agents. The first channel is **email**:
create addresses programmatically, send and receive mail, manage threads,
drafts, labels, allow/block lists, custom domains, webhooks and realtime
streams — all through one API.

## Why inboxes for agents?

* **Identity** — an address lets an agent sign up for services, receive
  confirmations and authenticate, just like a human.
* **Communication** — threaded replies, attachments and multi-party threads,
  over the one protocol everything speaks.
* **Memory** — every message is a persistent, searchable record.
